Keep CFM56 Flying

CFM56-powered aircraft remain a popular choice with airlines and there are currently more than 23,000 CFM56 engines still in service. CFM’s mission is to keep this fleet flying by providing exemplary support to the 600+ operators worldwide, both through our support organization as well as the CFM56 open MRO ecosystem that includes approximately 40 shops globally. As this fleet moves toward peak shop visits in the next few years. GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines continue to invest in repair development and spare parts production to ensure operators the highest long-term asset value for their investment.

Continuous improvement

CFM continues to invest in produce upgrades to ensure the longest life for the CFM56 fleet. In 2023, CFM introduced of an improved high-pressure turbine (HPT) blade designed to enhance the durability of its CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B engines to extend time on-wing, optimize cost of ownership, and enhance the residual value of the engines.
